Week 6 | November 2, 2026 | Gigi's Treehouse
Another week, another check of my YouTube subscriber count.
328 subscribers.
No new subscribers this week, and with my February 1, 2027 monetization goal getting closer, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't feeling a little pressure.
But rather than dwell on the numbers that aren't moving, I decided to look at the numbers that tell a much bigger story.
Look How Far We've Come!
When I started Gigi's Treehouse back in January, I had no idea how much I would learn about creating videos, building a brand, and navigating the world of YouTube.
As of November 2, 2026, here's what I've accomplished:
93 videos published
222,000 engaged views
1,100 likes
328 subscribers
That's 93 opportunities to create something educational, entertaining, and meaningful for young children.
And 397 times someone thought my content was worth sharing!
When I look at it that way, I'm reminded that this journey is about much more than reaching a subscriber milestone.
A Little AI Insight Goes a Long Way
One of my favorite tools throughout this challenge has been vidIQ. This week, I used its AI-powered channel audit feature to take a closer look at what's working and what isn't.
The results were revealing.
My longer-form videos featuring real animals, their names, sounds, and fun facts have consistently shown more momentum than my animated content.
And that got me thinking.
In my excitement to experiment with new formats, including animal guessing games, have I drifted away from the very content that was helping my channel grow?
It's certainly possible.
Experimentation is important, but so is recognizing when something is working.
So this week, I'm making a small course correction.
I'm putting the animal guessing games on pause and returning to the longer-form, real-animal educational videos that have performed best.
It's not abandoning creativity. It's using what I've learned to make better decisions.
The Race Continues
I'm still a long way from 1,000 subscribers, and the clock is ticking.
But I also know something I didn't know back in January: I can build a YouTube channel, produce quality educational content, learn new technologies, and keep improving along the way.
And I've already reached hundreds of thousands of engaged views doing it.
That's something worth celebrating.
Will I reach 1,000 subscribers by February 1?
I don't know.
But I do know that Gigi's Treehouse isn't going anywhere.
Sometimes the best way to move forward is to remember how far you've already come.
Until next week, the Race to 1,000 continues!
